Now Australian actress, Madeleine West, who rose to national stardom as Dee Bliss on the iconic soap back for several years, has opened up about her move behind the cameras.
The 38-year-old budding director raved over her behind-the scenes role on the long-running drama in a lengthy post she shared to Instagram on Tuesday.

‘2019 marks my 20th year on Aussie TV…but it all began on Ramsey St, and in 2019 Neighbours hits the big 3-5!’ she began.
‘Well this year, I’M BACK, and I’m directing too. JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE WHAT WE HAVE IN STORE FOR YOU!’
The actress also encouraged fans to ‘salute’ the popular soap with a TV WEEK Logie award vote, as the show is in the running for Most Popular Drama this year.
‘This show just gets better and better, so it is a great honour to see Neighbours n the running for Most Popular Drama at the 2019 logie awards.’

‘So this year, salute our longest running drama and the amazing team behind it by giving them your vote, it’s so bloody well deserved.’
The mother-of-six went on to pay homage to the ‘gifted’ crew behind-the-scenes at Neighbours, who she says ‘keep the machine running.’
‘You will never encounter a more gifted, experienced, passionate bunch, patiently providing the premiere training ground for our film and TV industry and endlessly dedicated to creating a show that reflects the lives of an ever-broadening cross-section of Aussies,’ she wrote.
‘Neighbours holds a mirror up to our lives and times, while offering a hand to hold and a shoulder to cry on…everyone needs good neighbours. And that is why this show has endured for some 35 years.’

In October last year, Madeleine announced she had made her directorial debut on the Australian drama.
The blonde star accompanied the post with a collection of photographs from behind-the-scenes.
In one photo Madeleine pulled an intense look of concentration as she peered towards a screen behind the camera.
The Playing For Keeps actress looked every inch the up-and-coming director, clad in a white collared shirt, blue jeans and a black fedora.
‘Week 1 of directing this ship alongside the (Scott) Major complete…we might have clipped the odd iceberg along the way but HMAS but @neighbours is still afloat!’ she captioned the post.
