Co-director of Avengers 4 and many other films and TV projects, Joe Russo, recently sat down to do a live Q&A on Instagram. A lot was mentioned during the event, but I wanted to focus on some of the highlights about Avengers 4.
First, the length of the initial cut of the film has been released. Russo said, “The running time on Avengers 4 is currently sitting right at three hours, so we’ll see if that holds, but it’s sitting right at three hours right now.”
Of course, the longest MCU film to date has been Avengers: Infinity War, the precursor to Avengers 4, which was also directed by Russo, and it clocked in at 2 hours 40 minutes. With everything that is sure to happen, I’m sure fans wouldn’t mind a 3 hour movie to see it all resolved, but it sounds like Russo is planning on trimming it. My guess would be to expect another 2-hour 40-minute film at most, but I could be wrong.
